Presenting Clinical Problem

A patient presented with small, widely spaced teeth that affected the overall balance and continuity of their smile. They were looking for a conservative way to even out tooth size and close visible gaps without orthodontic treatment or extensive enamel removal.

  • Spaced Teeth: Noticeable gaps between upper front teeth disrupted smile harmony.
  • Small Tooth Size: Several teeth appeared shorter and narrower than average, leaving dark spaces when smiling.
  • Shape Irregularities: The edges of some teeth were slightly uneven.
  • Aesthetic Goal: The patient wanted a fuller, more proportional smile that still appeared natural.

The clinical objective was to enhance size, proportion, and alignment using composite veneers — providing a smooth, continuous smile line with minimal intervention.

Treatment Plan & Clinical Process

A minimally invasive, artistically layered composite technique was used to achieve natural proportions and close gaps.

Phase 1: Digital Smile Design
High-resolution photographs and digital scans were taken to simulate the new proportions and ensure the final result complemented the patient’s facial features.

Phase 2: Tooth Preparation & Shade Selection
Very light enamel reshaping was performed to improve bonding. The final composite shade was chosen to match the patient’s natural enamel tone for seamless blending.

Phase 3: Composite Veneer Application
Tooth-coloured resin was layered directly onto each tooth, skillfully shaped to widen the appearance and close the spaces. Each veneer was contoured to achieve ideal symmetry.

Phase 4: Finishing & Polishing
After precise shaping, the veneers were polished to a high-lustre finish, creating a smooth surface that reflected light naturally.
